Ever think that maybe the Post Office is never open and everybody just assumes the hours of operation just don't coincide with their schedules? I mean think about it-- have you ever actually been to the Post Office when it was open?
EXCEPT: You can go whenever you want if they have a sending-mail machine. (Unless you're sending something larger than it sends.) I always had problems with the post office being closed, too, until I started using the machine. Now I send packages during convenient hours.
Also, if it does happen to be open, like today at lunch, a thousand people will swoop in immediately before you can get in line, so you are late getting back to work.

That's a good point. At that rate, I'm not sure if I've ever actually received mail. So maybe it's all a farce.
